Meet our key team members:

Moira Kavanagh Crosby, President and Founder

Moira Kavanagh Crosby has spent her entire professional career working with nonprofit organizations. In her twenty years in membership development, she has designed and implemented successful direct response fundraising programs for nonprofits of all sizes having anywhere from 100 to 150,000 members.

She began her fundraising career in Cambridge, Massachusetts managing strategic, creative and fulfillment elements of telemarketing campaigns for national advocacy and environmental organizations. Prior to founding MKDM in 1999, Moira served as Vice President of a direct response agency in New York, where she developed and managed integrated direct marketing programs for a wide variety of progressive advocacy and social service organizations.

Moira is a Board member and past president of the Direct Marketing Fundraisers Association, a national association based in New York, with chapters in Washington, DC and Boston. She currently serves as co-leader of the Direct Marketing track for the 2011 AFP / DMAW Bridge Conference and is on the Creative Master faculty of the 2011 DMA Washington Nonprofit Conference. She volunteers in her community as a Board member of the Virginia Discovery Museum, and served on the Steering Committee that helped launch the Center for Nonprofit Excellence in 2007.

Moira graduated cum laude from Tufts University with a B.A. in English. As an undergraduate she served as President of Tufts Student Resources, the largest nonprofit, student-run business in the country.

Moira is the chief strategist and creative director for all MKDM accounts.

Eliza Temeles, Senior Account Executive

With a background in data management and donor communications, Eliza Temeles brings a unique combination of data-driven analytical and creative skills to MKDM clients. In addition to having extensive experience in fundraising strategy and integrated program development, Eliza is highly skilled in donor messaging, direct response copywriting and graphic design. Eliza was recognized in 2011 by Fundraising Success as a Rising Star in its annual Fundraising Professionals of the Year Awards.

As Senior Account Executive at MKDM, Eliza provides hands-on management of national programs, as well as general oversight of MKDM client projects.

Eliza graduated cum laude and Phi Beta Kappa from Amherst College, where she received her B.A. in English.

Jen Fleisher, Creative Services Partner

Jen Fleisher is the creative eye behind MKDM’s most effective and visually engaging online and direct mail projects. In addition to her broad range of direct mail design experience, she also has an extensive background in publications and web design.

Jen received her post-baccalaureate degree from the Portfolio Center in Atlanta, GA. During her time at the Portfolio Center, she worked for Sapient, Inc. as a designer.

After receiving her degree, she joined VSA Partners in Chicago where she was a member of the creative team for accounts including Harley Davidson, IBM, Weber Grills and BP. She subsequently held positions with the consulting and web design firms of Viant and Category4.

Eric Jaffe, Messaging Strategy, Government Affairs and Copywriting Partner

Eric Jaffe is a seasoned messaging strategist and copywriter with an extensive background in public affairs and political campaigns. He brings to MKDM and its clients a keen perspective on public interest and a talent for joining hard-hitting issues with creatively charged copywriting.

Eric honed his messaging skills while working at SCN Public Relations in San Francisco under the tutelage of Ace Smith, one of the top political researchers in the nation. He later spent two years directing public affairs efforts in the Bay Area at Solem & Associates and subsequently served as an associate for three years with Staton & Hughes, one of California’s leading campaign consulting firms.

From 1994 to 1997, Eric advised Missouri Governor Mel Carnahan on federal policy from the state’s office in Washington, DC. His Capitol Hill experience also includes policy work for Majority Leader Richard Gephardt and Rep. Pat Danner.

Eric received his B.A. in Political Science and History from Washington University in St. Louis.

Charlotte Dombrower, Production Manager

Specializing in direct response production management, Charlotte coordinates vendor services and collaborates with account staff to ensure that MKDM projects are on time, in budget and error-free.

Charlotte has a background in website production art and has also worked as a copywriter and editor for numerous print publications.

Charlotte graduated from James Madison University with a B.S. in Media Arts and Design.

Michaux Hood, Online Services Partner

As the director of MKDM’s online services, Michaux Hood specializes in creating easy-to-use interfaces, content management systems, interactive campaigns, search engine optimization services and social networking integration.

With over 10 years of website development and internet marketing experience, both for commercial and nonprofit organizations, she brings a creatively charged and strategically savvy approach to client programs and projects.

Michaux received her B.A. in Communications from UNC-Chapel Hill.
